SLIDESHOW and VIDEO: 5th Annual Dragonfly Festival

ASHLAND – The 5th Annual Dragonfly Festival was held Saturday at Mill Pond park in Ashland.

It was originally scheduled for August but was rescheduled due to weather.

The free, family-friendly Dragonfly Festival supports the mission of Arts! Ashland Alliance, Inc. to promote and feature Ashland’s diversity, showcase Ashland musicians and artists, grow our local cultural economy and provide support for downtown Ashland revitalization.

The Dragonfly Festival site is located at Mill Pond Park and the Ashland Historical Society, which abuts Mill Pond and the Sudbury River, a natural habitat for the dragonfly.

In mythology, the dragonfly represents change, wisdom and potential.

As a symbol for the Festival, the dragonfly supports the theme of community renewal, growth and diversity.

There were a handful of musical acts on the stage sponsored by Needham Bank, on Saturday.

One of the highlights was the Dale Show band, with special guest Ashland Town Manager Michael Herbert.
