Ronald W. Barney, 83, Retired Sudbury Guidance Counselor and Framingham Elk

FRAMINGHAM – Ronald W. Barney, 83, passed away peacefully at Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

Ronald was born in Framingham on January 11, 1935 to the late Maitland and Mildred (Rabbitt) Barney.  He was raised in Framingham, graduated from Framingham High School, class of 1952 and was a graduate of Boston College.

His career as a guidance counselor and teacher spanned over 35 years for the Town of Sudbury School System.

He was a member of the Framingham Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. #1264 for many years.

Ronald is survived by his sister-in-law, Irene Barney, his niece, Sharlene Barney, great nephews, Luke Barney, Gregory Barney and his wife, Maria and their son Brian Barney.

He was the brother of the late Richard Barney and uncle of the late Robyn Barney.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 8:30 to 9:30 at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Road. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The American Heart Association.
