FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High swim & dive team won all 12 events on Wednesday night, and easily defeated Notre Dame Academy of Worcester for their first victory of the season.
It was the home opener for the Flyers. It also was the season opener for the team, after the Marshfield meet was cut short due to lightning last week.
The Flyers swept the diving event. Sophomore Janelle Burke won the event with 125 points. Freshmen Rachel Olson and Isabella German were second and third.
Freshman Laura Dube won the sprint event. Senior Andrea Ramirez was second in 29.03 seconds. Sophomore Sophia Genovese was third in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Flyers finished 1-2-3 in the 100-yard freestyle Ramirez won the event in 1:04.17 minutes. Junior Kacie Zonghetti was second in 1:04.76 minutes, and junior Helen Scanlon was third in 1:11.90 minutes.
The Flyers swept the 200-yard freestyle. Junior Jillian O’Neil and Tatum O’Leary finished first and second. Sophomore Sabrina Tersoni was third in 2:23.18 minutes.
In the distance event, Framingham again swept. O’Leary won the event, with junior Jessica Tosi second. Tersoni was third in 6:26.91 minutes.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Framingham sophomore Nikita Bhatnager won the event in 1:16.55 minutes. Sophomore Grayson Dolin was second in 1:26.25 minutes. Katie Dunn from Notre Dame Academy captured third place.
Flyer O’Neil won the 100-yard backstroke. Fellow junior Zonghetti and Beiyna Chaparian finished second and third. Chaparian’s time was 1:17.20 minutes.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Framingham freshman Dube won the event, with a time that qualified her for the state meet. Junior Arielle Shek finished second and senior Emily Rogers finished third in 1:23.74 minutes.
The Flyers swept the individual medley. Tosi finished first, Rogers was second, and Shek was third in 2:41.83 minutes.
The Flyers won all three relays. The Flyers finished first and second place in each relay.
In the medley relay, Framingham swimmers O’neil, Maria Martinez, Trinity Trainor and Ramirez touched the wall first. Framingham swimmers Megan DePasquale, Rogers, Suzanne Julakis, and Bhatnager finished second.
In the sprint relay, Framingham swimmers Dolin, Bhatnager, Scanlon and Dube finished first.
Swimmers Julakis, Genovese, Tosi and O’Leary finished second in 2:03.85 minutes.
In the final event of the night, the 400-yard relay, Framingham swimmers O’Neil, Tersoni, O’Leary and Dolin touched the wall first.
Flyers Julakis, Isabella Petroni, Chaparian, and Scanlon finished second.
