FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Garden Club celebrates its 85th year, beginning Wednesday, September 12.
For more than eight decades, the The Framingham Garden Club has actively served the Framingham community.
Today its programs continue to expand, with senior classes at Carmel Terrace, the Heritage and Brookdale at Cushing, in addition to awarding college scholarships, sponsoring a third grade program at Garden in the Woods, and designing and maintaining gardens at Cushing Chapel, Nobscot Park, and Saxonville Dam.
The Club financially supports Voices Against Violence and the Women’s Shelter, the Seed Library, Penny Pines and Hope Puerto Rico.
Monthly meetings and luncheons are held the second Wednesday from September to May, at the Parish Hall of Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road.
No gardening or floral design experience is necessary. Visitors and new members are welcome.
Members are gardeners, horticulturalists, educators, conservationists and volunteers who share their many talents with the City.
Many of the members are amateur floral designers while others are award-winning designers.
