FRAMINGHAM – Isabel Jean (Cotter) Bartley, 78, a longtime Framingham resident died Thursday, September 6, 2018 after a lengthy illness with her family by her side.
Born in Somerville, Jean is the daughter of the late John E. & Isabel Jean (Chisholm) Cotter, and the beloved wife of Wayne C. Bartley for more than 55 years.
She grew up in Somerville, Arlington, Wells, ME, and eventually Natick where she graduated high school.
She went on to graduate from Mt. Ida College, and began working for Raytheon. Jean married the love of her life Wayne in 1962, eventually settling in Framingham where they raised their three children. As the kids grew, Jean went back to work as an administrative assistant at the Immaculate Conception School in Marlborough.
She loved to travel, spending winters in FL, and summers in Wells Beach, ME.
An avid gardener, she was a member of the Pinefield Garden Club, and enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Besides her husband Wayne, Jean is survived by her children, Sheryl Nicoletti & her husband Edward, Steven & his wife Jocelyn, and Douglas & his companion Ann Connors, her grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Gianna, and Tyler & Hannah Nicoletti, and her sister Mary Mespelli.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
