Warren Dixon Blackman, 80, Retired Raytheon Employee

FRAMINGHAM- Warren Dixon Blackman, 80, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Monday, September 3, 2018 after a period of declining health.

He was the devoted husband of 55 years to Carole Ann (Sprayer) Blackman of Framingham.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the Charles Frederick and Dorothy Dixon (Radford) Blackman. Warren graduated Middleboro High School in 1956. He was a co-captain of the Track and Cross-Country Team and a member of the National Honor Society. He was also affiliated with 4-H, as well as DeMolay International.

He was called upon to serve his country from 1960 – 1962, fulfilling his duties for the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, Texas where he was Honorably Discharged.

Warren worked at Raytheon, testing Hawk Missile Systems and then went on to work for IBM as a Customer Engineer for 28 years. In his retirement years, he worked in the parts division at Toyota as a part-time driver. He also enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with his family.

Warren enjoyed being an active member of Plymouth Church in Framingham and served on the property management church council.

He was a mentor for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop #12, where is son became an Eagle Scout.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Derith and her husband Jean-Paul Marjollet of Harwich; Charlene and her husband Todd Stelmach of Framingham and Glenn and his wife Susan Parth-Blackman of Innsbrook, Austria.

He also is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Amalia Marjollet, Charles Stelmach, William Stelmach and Anna Stelmach.

He is predeceased by his brother, Paul Blackman.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Memorial service on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Rd., Framingham Centre.

At the family’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A private burial with military honors will be held in the family lot at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston, RI.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Rd., Framingham, MA 01701.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, Framingham.
