FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High Athletic Director Paul Spear announced Ed Crowley as the new boys cross-country coach.
“Coach Crowley is the founder of the track program at (Christa) McAuliffe Charter School and served last season as a volunteer assistant under legendary cross-country coach Ron Pereira,” wrote Spear on social media this morning.
Pereira announced his retirement just before the season started in August.
“Coach Crowley also served as a head coach for both indoor and outdoor track last season. Coach Crowley is very enthusiastic to take on the challenges this Fall season will bring. He brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport. Coach Crowley has both collegiate and marathon competitive experience and a constant drive to learn how to improve runners of all levels,” wrote Spear.
“The Flyer family is happy to have a familiar face in the fold to help carry on the legacy that is predecessor, Coach Ron Pereira has established. Ed currently works in the Framingham School District as a Physical Education Teacher at the Walsh Middle,” wrote Spear.
