FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools and the Framingham Police Department added two new resource officers at Framingham High School this school year.
The new officers are Steve O’Rourke and Eric Hayes.
“We are thrilled that through our strong partnership with the Framingham Police Department, we have added two more School Resource Officers (SROs) to our schools,” said Tremblay to Source earlier in August. “In the spirit of community policing, we are excited to welcome/welcome back our three SROs to our school community and look forward to watching the relationships that they will forge through their daily presence in our schools,” said the Superintenent.
The new officers were at the back-to-school picnic on Thursday night. They posed for a photo with District 8 School Committee member Gloria Pascual and District 9 School Committee member Tracey Bryant.
Hayes has been with the Framingham Police Department for 5 years and 10 months. O’Rourke has been with the department for 3.5 years.
Tremblay said the district should be “finalizing the hiring of a new Safety & Security Director for the district in the coming weeks,” earlier this month.
