FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay said he will make a decision on whether to have a first day of school early release by Tuesday morning, August 28.

Tremblay told the Source he was meeting with his team and others in the community today, Monday, August 27,  and will make an announcement no later than Tuesday at noon.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a possible heat wave by Wednesday, August 29.

A heat wave is three days above 90 degree temperatures.

But the National Weather Service also issued an advisory for the heat index on Tuesday and Wedbesday, which could reach 105 degrees.

Wednesday is the first day of school for students in the public school district in grades 1-12. Thursday is the first day of school for kindergarten students.

The plus with an early release is that it does not need to be made up like a snow day.
