FRAMINGHAM – Framingham suffered a huge loss when our friend and advocate, Chris Walsh, passed away. He is irreplaceable as a person, but someone must take his seat to represent the city he loved. I certainly don’t know Maria Robinson the way I knew Chris, but what I have observed about her is that she can best carry on his spirit and mission.
Maria Robinson actually has a leg up on Chris when he first ran. She has worked with state legislatures around the country, writing policy and law hand-in-hand with legislators, advocates, and industry.
Like Chris, who was the only architect in the House, Maria brings a unique expertise in clean energy and consumer protection. It is know-how that will not only serve Framingham well, but also serve the Commonwealth at large.
As is our tradition here in the 6th Middlesex, Maria will make serving Framingham her full time job. She already took a leave of absence so she could campaign full time and get out to meet as many voters as possible.
But it is Maria’s personal qualities that sold me on her candidacy. Like Chris, she is a problem solver. Like him she is smart, funny, approachable and always ready to listen, even if she disagrees with you. In his mold, she sees the big picture and doesn’t let it go.
We will be fortunate if Maria Robinson is elected to the 6th Middlesex. She is the face of the future for Framingham.
