Irene (Liberatore) Collins, 85, Retired Verizon Telephone and Tommy’s Taxi Employee

FRAMINGHAM – Irene M. (Liberatore) Collins, 85, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Medway Country Manor in Medway.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Sisto and Mariana (Viglione) Liberatore.

Irene was the wife of the late William J. “Brother” Collins who died in 2005. William was a retired (Town) Fireman.

Mrs. Collins was a graduate of Framingham High class of 1951.

She retired from the Verizon Telephone Company, then continued employment for Tommy’s Taxi of Framingham until she retired in 2017.

Irene is survived by her son, Timothy Collins of Framingham and his girlfriend Jodi Nix. Also, survived by her two grandchildren, Courtney Collins of Framingham and Kyle Collins of Worcester, sister Josephine Rose, brother Richard Liberatore and his wife Diana and sister in laws Jane and Jackie Liberatore.

She was the sister of the late Lillian Foster and husband Victor, Phyllis Whitney and husband Ralph, Fred Liberatore, Joseph Liberatore and wife Marie, John Liberatore, Arthur Tealo, Francis Liberatore, Anthony Liberatore and wife Louise, Richard Liberatore and wife Rose, brother in-law Edwin Rose.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham followed by her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street in Natick.

Burial will take place on a later date.
