Company Wants License To Test Marijuana in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM – On Thursday, the Commonwealth’s Cannabis Control Commission will decide on two companies seeking approval for a testing facility in Framingham and the City of Salem.

MCR Labs wants to operate a testing lab in Framingham.

CDX Analytics wants to operate a testing lab in Salem.

Both will present their cases to the state’s Commission on Thursday, August 23.

Stores will be required to have their marijuana/cannabis tested for possible contaminants like pesticides and mold before it can be sold at medical or recreational sites.

Retail marijuana  stores were slated to open on July 1, but the Commission pushed back that date.

Framingham Selectmen approved two medical marijuana operations. Under the law, Framingham must have a minimum of two recreational marijuana outlets, although a City Task Force is proposing six.

The 11-member City Council will have a public hearing on Marijuana on September 6.
