LETTER: Gatlin Will Focus on Economy, Environment, Education, and Elderly

FRAMINGHAM – Mike Gatlin, after years of public service, is now running for State Representative of the Middlesex 6th district in Framingham.

As an experienced attorney, he understands the Commonwealth’s laws, which can aid him as he helps to revise or draft new ones. As a husband and the father of three highly professional adult children, he knows the joys and challenges of parenthood. As an involved citizen, he has served the educational organizations such as Framingham State University and has participated in the search committee for the new superintendent of schools.

Concerned about Framingham’s economic growth he has chaired both Framingham Downtown, Inc. and the Framingham Economic Development Investment Corporation. I am familiar with Mike through his work on the Board of Directors of the Framingham Public Library Foundation which helped raise $600,000 for the new Christa McAuliffe Branch Library.

Mike’s campaign will center on his passion for identifying and taking advantage of the many opportunities that Framingham has yet to fully realize.

In working with our own Senate President Karen Spilka, he intends to focus his efforts on what he calls “The Four E’s”:

Economy, including infrastructure funding.
Environment, including rail trails and efficient transportation.
Education, including early childhood education and state support for Framingham’s schools.
Elderly, including support for the Senior Circuit Breaker which provides state support for helping Framingham seniors with their property tax bills.
I support Mike Gatlin to be Middlesex 6th district’s next representative.
