FRAMINGHAM – Long-time Framingham High cross-country coach Ron Pereira is retiring.
“Ron has notified us that he is retiring effective immediately from Cross Country and the first order of business is for this community, our league, and our state to thank him for all his years of dedication to the youth of Framingham. None of us ever wants our career or involvement with our students to come to an end but Ron leaves with his head held high and he leaves a program in great shape, positioned well for the future. Ron has many memories, friends, and colleagues who all wish him the best,” said Framingham High athletic director Paul Spear.
Spear said they will begin advertising for a boys cross-country coach, for the season that starts later this month.
Pereira has been coaching for more than 3 decades.
He will still coach the boys swimming & diving team in 2018-19, said Spear.
His wife Sue is the head cheerleading coach at Framingham High.
