Mosquito in MetroWest Tests Positive For West Nile Virus

WAYLAND – A mosquito in MetroWest has tested positive to West Nile Virus, according to the Wayland Health Department.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health notified Wayland Health that a “Culex” species mosquito collected from South Wayland on August 7 tested positive for West Nile Virus.

According to Wayland Health, the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project is seeing “West Nile Virus positive pools in much of our district which is typical for this time of year.”
