5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Tuesday, August 7

 

1 Today is the 35th Annual National Night Out. Framingham will celebrate it at Cushing Memorial Park from 4 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Click here for more details.

 

2. Tonight is the battle of two undefeated swim teams in Newton at 6 p.m. The Framingham Frogs who are the defending champions, will look to defeat Newton to capture back-to-back titles.

 

 

 

3. CITY of FRAMINGHAM meetings:

  • Framingham Historic District Commission meeting at 7 p.m.
  • Framingham City Council’s subcommittee on Finance will meet at 7 in the Blumer room in the Memorial  Building
  • Framingham City Councik’s subcommittee on appointments will meet at 7 in the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building.

 

4. Framingham Library is hosting a workshop for teens on Poi Spinning from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees will make their own Poi equipment, and learn how to spin it at the Christa McAuliffe Library branch on Water Street.

 

 

 

5. According to Mayor’s public calendar on the City of Framingham’s website, Mayor Yvonne Spicer will hold office hours with the public from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Memorial Building. She is also expected to make an appearance at National Night Out but it is not on her public schedule.
