FRAMINGHAM -John F. Heffernon, 61, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 after complications during heart surgery.
John was the forever loving husband of Laurie L. (Funk) Heffernon.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late William J. and Miriam S. (Cutting) Heffernon.
Heffernon worked as a Product Management Director for Safety Insurance in Boston.
He previously worked for John Hancock, Providence Washington, Hanover, and One Beacon.
He grew up on Wilson Street in Framingham, attended St. Stephen’s Parochial School and graduated from Framingham South High in 1975.
He graduated from Bentley College in 1979. He was a true family man and spent as much time as he could in that endeavor.
He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, tending to his gardens and keeping his visiting summer hummingbirds fed.
Besides his wife Laurie, John is survived by their loving daughter Katherine Heffernon and their much beloved grandchildren Mia and Cooper Hanna, all of Virginia. He is also survived by his aunt Sr. Harriet Cutting, SND. Being an only child, John’s cousins are important. He leaves Donne Cutting, Marion David, Sue Tibbetts Findley, and Peter, Harris, and David Tibbetts. He also leaves his in-laws Ralph and Elizabeth Funk of Framingham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. in St. Linus Church 119 Hartford St., Natick. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery, Framingham.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, August 6 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (corner of Union Ave) in Framingham.
