Flyers Shutout Acton to Clinch Division 1 in Minuteman Babe Ruth Action

FRAMINGHAM – Behind a stellar pitching performance by Brandan Garcia, the Flyers rolled over Acton 5-0 in a rain-delayed contest Thursday night at Winch Field.

Garcia went 5 strong innings allowing only one hit and no walks.

Reliever Nate Thurber came in to close out the game, throwing two more scoreless innings. Six Flyers went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Earlier in the week the Flyers took out the Maynard Red Sox by a score of 15-9.

Flyer coach Rick McKenna said that the team has earned home-field advantage during the playoffs, which start Tuesday night at Long field.
