FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Police Department, Framingham Housing Authority and Pelham Apartments will join forces for the 35th Annual National Night Out at Cushing Memorial Park.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
The event is Tuesday, August 7 from 4 to 7 p.m.
At this year’s National Night Out community members can expect food, ice cream truck, music, games for children, face painting for children, demonstrations and activities.
MutualOne Bank’s Charitable Foundation made a $2,500 donation to support National Night Out in the City of Framingham.
One of the tables at National Night Out in Framingham will be BeSMART for Kids, which focuses on kids, guns, and safety.
Every year, nearly 300 children age 17 and under gain access to a gun and unintentionally shoot themselves or someone else. And nearly 50 more die by suicide with a gun. Many of these deaths are entirely preventable with responsible gun storage.
BeSMART focuses on keeping kids safe by educating adults and opening the discussions about secured guns in the home. We’ll have loads of fun activities for kids at our table so that kids can have fun while the grown-ups can talk about this important topic
