FRAMINGHAM – A temporary closure for a portion of A Street will be in effect from Monday, July 23 until the afternoon of Friday, July 27, as the City’s contractor for the North Concord Roadway Improvements Project performs drainage work, including a new increased-capacity culvert for A Street.
A full roadway closure of A Street south of Bonito Drive is required to allow for safe and efficient construction and to complete the work in a timely manner. Hours of construction will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; however, due to the nature of this work, the closure will remain in place 24 hours a day until the work is complete.
The City has scheduled this work on A Street during the less-active summer season, in part, to mitigate the impact to Framingham High School.
Editor’s Note: There are summer classes at Framingham High.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on A Street from Bonito Drive north to Concord Street.
The traffic detour directs drivers on Concord Street approaching from the south to continue on Concord Street and access A Street from the north.
Residents of Bonito Drive, Dunham Road, Winch Park Road, and B Street will similarly be directed to travel north on A Street to connect with Concord Street.
The City appreciates the community’s patience as these important infrastructure improvements are made.
