City Closes One of Its Beaches Due To Bacteria

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham has closed one of its three public beaches due to high bacteria count.

The City has closed Lake Waushakum beach until further notice.

While it is raining now on July 17, the beach will be closed on Wednesday, July 18.

The City’s two other beaches – Learneds Pond and Saxonville Beach will be open.

The beach tested high for e coli.

Ingesting water with high e coli, can causeĀ diarrhea, respiratory illnesses and possible urinary tract infections.
