HOPKINTON – Bruce S. Wright, 57, of Hopkinton, a former longtime resident of Framingham, died peacefully Monday June 25, 2018 at his home after a brief illness.
He was the loving partner of Maria S. Colella for 17 years.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of Jean F. (Gavigan) of Framingham and the late Raymond Wright.
Bruce worked as a printer at several local print and graphics shops including the former Natick Center Graphics and Sir Speedy in Marlboro and Westboro.
He was a former Exalted Ruler of the Framingham Elks Lodge, serving 2 terms and also held a membership in the Natick American Legion Post 107.
An accomplished softball player, Bruce played for the Framingham Elks team within the Framingham Slow Pitch Softball League, and enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins.
He loved boating and fishing at Onset on the Cape.
In addition to Maria and his mother, Bruce is survived by 2 brothers: Raymond Wright & his wife Arlene of Clinton and Christopher Wright & partner Debi Campbell of Milford; 3 nieces: Olivia, Kelly and Julie Wright and a nephew: Kevin Wright, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday July 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church at 20 Church Street in Hopkinton.
Urn burial will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery on Winthrop Street in Framingham.
There are no funeral home visiting hours.
