After 33 Years, Framingham Fire Deputy Chief Leporati Retires

FRAMINGHAM – Mark Leporati began his career with the Framingham Fire Department on May 5, 1986.

Last week, he retired as Deputy Chief, after 33 years.

He was appointed a lieutenant on May 29, 1995, and promoted to fire captain on July 9, 2013.

He was appointed Deputy Chief on January 28, 2016.

Deputy Chief Leporati “had many roles within the department, from riding the fire department run ambulance early in his career as an EMT-Intermediate, to lieutenant on a truck, to training captain to finally shift commander as Deputy Chief,” said Framingham Assistant Fire Chief Mike Dutcher.

“Mark performed his duties with honor and passion.  He will be sorely missed,” said Assistant Chief Dutcher.

“A saying in the Fire Service for a job well done is, ‘A tip of the helmet,” said Assistant Chief Dutcher. “Mark certainly deserves a ‘tip of the helmet.'”
