FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Business Association and the Framingham chapter of the League of Women Voters held a Flag Day gala on Flag Day, June 14, at the Framingham Elks lodge on Union Avenue.
The purpose of the gala was to raise money to pay for the City of Framingham Flag Day parade held on Sunday, June 10.
About 100 people attended the event, last night.
MutualOne CEO Mark Haranas spoke on behalf of the Framingham Business Association. The Association pledged $2,000 towards the parade, before it took place.
Mary Kate Fenney, the vice president of the Framingham League of Women Voters also spoke.
Flag Day parade committee members Kelly Hagerty and A.J. Mulvey were in attendance, as was Mayor Yvonne Spicer, who spoke about the parade (video above).
Several Framingham City Councilors were in attendance including Chair Dennis Giombetti, Cheryl Tully Stoll, Michael Cannon, and Adam Steiner.
State Rep. Jack Lewis also attended, as did District 3 School Committee member Scott Wadland.
There were more than dozen Elks members also in attendance, as well as a strong showing from both organizations that hosted the event.
Food was provided by Bella Costa restaurant in Framingham.
