FRAMINGHAM – Mary Kate Feeney, a life-long resident of Framingham, announced her candidacy for State Representative in the 6th Middlesex District.
Pledging to be a full-time State Representative, Mary Kate is determined to continue the district’s long history of sending strong, thoughtful, progressive leadership to the State House, most recently by Representative Chris Walsh.
A former aide to Governor Deval Patrick and a small business owner, Mary Kate has been involved in the civic life of the Framingham community throughout her life both as a volunteer and a public servant.
“I have been on the front lines of government working with advocates, agencies and residents on solving problems and listening to concerns. And I am ready to do that again,” said Feeney in a video released this morning on her Facebook page and website.
Serving in Patrick’s Constituent Services Office, she developed protocols and established connections between the office and state agencies, and worked every day with residents to solve a wide range of issues with a state agency, like obtaining health care or resolving a tax situation.
Her work earned her a promotion to become the Governor’s Director of Online Media. Through the use of social media and online tools, Mary Kate helped to make state government and the Governor’s Office more transparent and accessible to its residents.
She continued this work in roles at both the Commonwealth Marketing Office and the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, and later as the founder of Dockside Media where she now helps educational institutions, nonprofits, community initiatives, and civic leaders, better connect with the students, customers, and citizens they serve.
Her video message to the residents of Framingham’s Precincts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 15, can be viewed at www.FeeneyforFramingham.com.
