UPDATED: Framingham’s McDonald Wins 12th Annual Framingham Police Chase For A Cure

FRAMINGHAM – UMass Amherst student Mikey McDonald won the 12th Annual Framingham Police Chase for a Cure Today, May 19 at Cushing Memorial Park.

McDonald, a Class of 2016 Framingham High graduate, won the 11th Annual Police Chase for a Cure last year in 16.12 minutes.

His time this year was 15:51.8 minutes, more than three minutes ahead of second place finished Matthew Vidal, who crossed the finish line at 18:57.6 minutes. Mike Thompson was third at 20:16.5 minutes.

Lauren Smith, the top female finisher, at 21:10.6 minutes, was fourth overall. Jay Godino Jr. was fifth overall at 21:12.3 minutes.

More than 150 runners and walkers participated in the annual event, sponsored by the Framingham Police Association.

The 5K run/walk supports the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Pan/CAN is a nationwide nonprofit organization focusing on research, outreach, and education for Pancreatic Cancer patients and their families.
