FRAMINGHAM – Janet Bassett, 73, a longtime Framingham resident, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Chelmsford, England during WWII, she was the daughter of the late George & Edna (Thompson) Eastaugh, and the beloved wife of the late Lawrence E. “Larry” Bassett.
She was raised in the Brighton section of Boston.
She and Larry settled in Framingham in 1974 where they raised their four children. She most enjoyed being surrounded by her family and being a mom to all, always taking care of everyone.
She is survived by her four children, Christopher & his wife Kristine of Littleton, Richard & his longtime companion Wendy Barden of Framingham, Adam & his wife Alicia of Apollo Beach, FL, and Lauren Keeney & her husband William of North Grafton, her grandchildren, Ryan, Alexa, Travis, Connor, Dillon, Olivia, Carter, Tyler, and Cooper, her great grandson Xander, her siblings, David Eastaugh and his wife Patti, Dale Lucarelli of OH, her sister in law Jeanne Ells & her husband Tom of Salisbury, her brothers in law, David & his wife Irene of Billerica, Jack & his wife Donna of Brockton, and Philip & his wife Annette of Stoneham. Janet is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
Family and friends will honor and remember her life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street in Framingham on Tuesday, May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget’s Church 830 Worcester Road in Framingham on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
Interment will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery.
