5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Monday, May 7

Today, the City of Framingham will begin a curbside brush collection.

 

1 There is a meeting tonight at the Framingham Public Library for residents in Districts 6, 7, 8, and 9 at 7 p.m. at 49 Lexington Street. Click here for more details.

 

2. Jack Patrick Lewis, state representative for the 7th Middlesex District, will be holding his re-election campaign kickoff tonight. The event will take place at Exhibit A Brewing Company from 5 to 7 p.m. Jay Gonzalez, candidate for Governor, and Quentin Palfrey, candidate for Lt. Governor, will be in attendance, along with several area state house officials. A short speaking program will begin at 6 p.m

Lewis represents all of the Town of Ashland and one-third of the City of Framingham.

  • Baseball travels to Weymouth for a game against the Wildcats at 3:45 p.m.
  • Girls tennis hosts Weymouth for a 4 p.m.match
  • Boys tennis travels to Weymouth High for a 4 p.m. match
  • Boys volleyball travels to Brookline for a 4:30 p.m. match against the Warriors
  • Softball hosts Weymouth High at 4:30 p.m. at Framingham High School

 

 

4.  CITY of Framingham meetings:

  • Framingham License Commission is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Ablondi room at the Memorial Building
  • Team Framingham is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building
  • Stapleton Elementary School Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m.

 

5.  According to Mayor’s public calendar on the City of Framingham’s website, she has just one event today. She is holding an office hour for City Councilors tonight.

Rep. Jack Lewis said he is expecting the Mayor to attend his kick off event tonight.

District 7 City Councilor Maragreth Shephard said she is expecting the Mayor to attend her meeting tonight at 7, and speak briefly.

Yesterday, the Mayor spoke at the Temple Beth Am Brotherhood breakfast. She re-delivered her State of the City address, according to attendees.
