BOSTON – Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer introduced 2018 Good Guys award recipient Congressman Joseph Kennedy III at the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus’s 17th Annual Good Guys awards event last night, May 3 at the Omni Parker House in Boston. The event was sold out and had just under 300 people in attendance.
Spicer and Congressman Kennedy served on several STEM related committees together when she was a Vice President with the Museum of Science. Both are passionate about engineering and science. Kennedy was acknowledged for his commitment to issues such as mental health and addiction, manufacturing, STEM education, and pay equity.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker (former award recipient/presenter), Lt. Governor Karyn Polito (presenter) were also in attendance. WCVB TV’s Karen Holmes Ward was the MC.
Established in 1971, The Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus is a non-partisan, non-profit organization committed to increasing the number of women elected to political office and appointed public policy positions. We seek to civically engage women of all ages in the political process through events, programming and workshops. Caucus members include a diverse group of prominent and influential women in the political, academic, business, and non-profit communities. The Caucus offers programs that strive to increase women’s interest in the political process and help them become successful in the political arena.
