FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Cultural Council held its annual awards night at the Framingham Public Library last night, April 30.
Mayor Yvonne Spicer and Cultural Council Chair Joel Winett spoke to begin the event celebrating arts in the City of Framingham,
The Framingham Cultural Council awards prizes to middle and high schools students for their art in the Council’s scholastic art competition.
The Council awarded the Rita and Bill Collins Memorial Scholarship to Framingham High senior Catherine Giorgetti. It also award six, $100 scholarships.
And Framingham Library Director Mark Contois received the Contributor of the Year award from the Framingham Cultural Council.
The Mayor discussed how “art would not exist without science, and math.” Watch her speech in the video above.
Also during the event, the Framingham Cultural Council awarded certificates to its 2019 grantees.
