Homework Center Hosting 5th Annual Middle School Spelling Bee

FRAMINGHAM – The Homework Center at the Framingham Public Library will host the 5th Annual Middle School Spelling Bee on Thursday night, May 24.

For the first two years, a team from Christa McAuliffe Charter School won the Homework Center’s Annual Middle School Spelling Bee, but then Fuller Middle School won the trophy. Last year, Cameron Middle School won the 4th Annual Spelling Bee.

The event will be held in the Costin room at the main Framingham Library  starting at 7 p.m.

Rep. Jack Lewis will be the master of ceremonies again this year.

Will Cook, head of the English Department at Framingham High, will be the official judge.

The event is hosted by the Homework Center’s Student Advisory Board.

The students meet monthly to plan fun academic events, that raise the profile of the Homework Center and education in Framingham, as well as the library, said advisor Judy Gatlin.

Editor’s Note: In full transparency my daughter has been a member of the advisory board since its inception.

The Homework Center provides free tutoring and homework help for all Framingham K-12 students. The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
