FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys outdoor track team hosts the Wildcats of Milton High and the Rockets of Needham High at Bowditch Field on Monday, April 30.
The Flyers defeated the Wildcats 74.5 to 51.5 in the home opener tri-meet.
The Rockets defeated the Flyers 77-49, and Needham defeated Milton 88-33.
Junior Jelani Steans won the triple jump against both Needham and Milton with a leap of 38 feet. Ryan Maliewski finished third in the triple jump against Milton High, with a jump of 31 feet and 8.5 inches.
Steans also won the long jump against both the Rockets and the Wildcats. The Flyers swept Needham in the long jump with Vasanth Prabakaran second at 16 feet and 5 inches, and Maliewski third at 15 feet and 9 inches. Prabakaran finished third against Milton.
Senior Andrew Swallow won the shot put against both Needham and Milton with a throw of 45 feet and 5 inches. Framingham senior Mikael Cabreja, with a throw of 34 feet and 2 inches finished second against the Wildcats and third against the Rockets. Senior Felipe Ferreira took third against Milton, with a throw of 32 feet, 10 inches.
Swallow also won the discus event against both the Wildcats and Rockets with a throw of 119 feet and 11 inches.
The Flyers swept the discus event in both meets. Cabreja was second with a throw of 88 feet and Ferreira was third with a throw of 86 feet, 1 inch.
Sophomore Brad Bogovich won the javelin event against Milton, and finished third against Needham with a throw of 108 feet. Senior captain Justin Su finished second against the Wildcats with a throw of 97 feet and 3 inches.
The Flyers won both the 4X100 and the 4X400 relays against both Needham and Milton.
Framingham High junior Kevin Braganca won the 400 meter event, with in a time of 55.7 seconds against Milton. He finished third against Needham. Flyer Miguel Aguilar with a time of 57.6 seconds finished third against Milton.
Matt Hom won the 800 against the Wildcats, in 2:18.9 minutes. Senior Nick Merriam finished in third place with a time of 2:23.8 minutes against Milton.
Freshman Sam Moffat, with a time of 74.5 seconds, finished second in the 400 hurdles against both Milton and Needham.
Freshman Colin Jones finished second in the 110 meter hurdles against both the Wildcats and the Rockets, with a time of 19.7 seconds. Framingham teammate Sam Westervelttook third in 22.7 seconds.
Junior Jerry Cruz crossed the finish line first in the 100 meter race against Milton, in 23.5 seconds. His time gave him third place against Needham High. Junior captain Jon Lam finished third against Milton at 24 seconds flat.
Sophomore Lucas Marshall finished third against the Wildcats in the mile at 5:07 minutes.
Framingham junior Ben Silver finished third against the Wildcats in the 2 mile race at 11:18 minutes.
