LETTER: ‘My Heart Broke on Saturday at the Mass GOP Convention’

ASHLAND – As a life long Conservative Republican, my heart was broken on Saturday at the Mass GOP convention.

Dr. Scott Lively gave a “talking points” speech that resonated with some Conservatives and earned him a spot for a Governor primary in September.

I would ask that those who voted for him, do a little research on this man.

Lively is anti LGBTQ and has been tied to multiple hate organizations. Do a quick Google search and you will find it’s all there.

Before some say this piece is from a RHINO and a friend of Governor Baker.

In my many years of elected public service I have never voted for a tax or fee increase. I support the Second Amendment, and have worked hard for hard core Conservatives and Moderate Republicans on the National, State and the Local level. Few have been more out spoken about unproductive Democrats than me. I love the Republican Party and strongly stand by One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL.

One of Lively’s staffers asked a LGBTQ Convention volunteer staffer if “he could pray away the gay for him” and if he would consider “conversion therapy.”

As the former Patriots coach Bill Parcels would say, you are what your record says you are, and Dr. Lively’s record is one of bigotry and hate.

Enjoy your fifteen minutes of “fame” Dr.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time – and you don’t fool me.
