FRAMINGHAM – Today was the 8th Annual Earth Day Festival in Framingham.
It was a beautiful day for the celebration of everything “green.”
SOURCE will have a slideshow on Sunday, but pictured is one of the organizers Michael Croci with the owner of the 1854 Cycling Company Brandale Randolph.
“The 1854 Cycling Company is a premium Framingham-based bicycle and apparel brand inspired by the burning of the US Constitution by abolitionists in protest of the Fugitive Slave Act in 1854. Proceeds from each item will be contributed to programs that will help end cycles of poverty among the formerly incarcerated,” according to the company’s website.
Bicycle riding uses minimal fossil fuels and is a pollution-free mode of transport. Cycling 10 km each way to work would save 1500 kg of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
