EDITOR’S PICKS: 8 Things to Do in Framingham on April 28

  1. EARTH DAY: Framingham will hold its 8th Annual Earth Day Festival at the Framingham Centre Common from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  2. RUN A 5K: Today is the Dunning Dash 5K road race. Attendees will be running and walking to raise money for the elementary school.
  3. GUN BUY BACK: Framingham Police are hosting its 2nd annual gun buy back program today at 100 Western Avenue. Click here for more details.
  4. DRUG DROP OFF:  Framingham Medical Corp and the Framingham Police are participating in the national get rid of drugs in your house event. Drugs can be dropped off at the police station today. Click here for details.
  5. SEE A PLAY: Framingham Middle School are competing in the Massachusetts Education Theatre Guild’s annual middle school drama festival today at Walsh Middle School.
  6. SUPPORT HIDDEN GEMS: Discovering Hidden Gems, a new non profit helping at-risk youths in Framingham, is hosting a fundraiser today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Hall.
  7. LAUGH A LITTLE: Comedian Jimmy Tingle will headline a show in Framingham at China Gourmet and Sushi Lounge  to support the Celebrating Sharon Gath Campership at the Epilepsy Foundation of New England today. This scholarship will support sending kids to Purple Camp, an overnight camp for children with seizure disorders. In August 2013, Donna Criswell lost her daughter Sharon Marie Gath in a tragic accident as a direct result from having Epilepsy.   8. GARDEN CLEAN UP: Today is the 9th Annual Framingham High garden clean-up. Framingham High students, mostly from the National Honor Society, are participating in this annual event this morning.
