FRAMINGHAM – Walter F. Siggins, III 60, a longtime resident of Framingham, died suddenly on Thursday April 19, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, NY the son of Walter F, Jr. & Mary (Connors) Siggins of Framingham, he is the beloved husband of 40 years to Leslie A. (Brown).
He was a 1975 graduate of Marian High School, and attended Framingham State College where he majored in mathematics and economics.
Baseball was an important part of his life, pitching in high school and college, and continuing with the over 30 and 40 baseball, proudly striking out 19 batter in one game. He coached for the American Legion Team of Framingham for many years, and worked with younger teams as well.
In recent years, he became involved in local politics as a Town Meeting member, enjoying vigorous debates on town issues.
He was happiest spending time with his family and dogs, and at the water on the Cape.
Besides his adored wife and parents, Walter is survived by his two sons, Walter F. IV and Christopher M., his siblings, Marybeth Croci, Dennis, Barbara Galluzzo, Bob, and Karyn Battey, and 14 nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Walter’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street in Framingham on Monday, April 23 from 4 to 8 p.m.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Road Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
Interment will be private.
