FRAMINGHAM – Monday, the 22 runners from Team Framingham 2018 will run the 122nd Boston Marathon from Hopkinton to Boston.
But they have already set a record as a team raising more than $90,000 for five organizations – the most every by a Team Framingham. As of today, April 15, the 22 runners have raised $90,911.
Over the last five years Team Framingham runners have raised almost $360,000. As of today, the number stands at $359,859.
Leading the way is a trio of women running to raise money for Hoops and Homework.
The top three Team Framingham runners are:
- Bree Cunningham (Hoops) $9,032
- Diana Linn (Hoops) $7,379
- Priscila Sousa (Hoops) $7,072
The fourth top fundraiser is Michelle Gibson, raising money for Adult ESL In Framingham. She is at $6,775.
The fifth fundraiser is Deb Dauley raising money for the Framingham High School Foundation. Her total is $5,016.
Each runner, selected in a lottery in December 2017, is tasked with raising a minimum of $1,500 but with a goal of $3,000 for their selected charity.
In December 2017, five organizations were selected by a lottery to be recipients of fundraising dollars from the 22 Team Framingham runners. Each runner selected one organization to raise money for. Resiliency for Life has 8 runners, Hoops and Homework 7 runners, Framingham High School Foundation four runners, United Way’s Call2Talk 2 runners and the Framingham Adult ESL program one runner.
