Marathon Monday Forecast: Rainy and Windy With Chance of Thunderstorms

FRAMINGHAM – The National Weather Service is forecasting rain and wind for the 122nd running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16. The chance for rain on Monday is 100 percent.

And for the first time since 1984, the Patriots Day Red Sox game has been postponed.

Rain is forecasted for before 11 a.m. Between 11  a.m.and 3 p.m. there is a chance of a thunderstorm.

After 3 p.m., the National Weather Service says even more rain.

Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. The forecast is from 1 to 2 inches of rain on Monday.

It will also be windy. Wind will be from the east 13 to 16 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
