Framingham Wants To Construct Memorial For Fallen Firefighters

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Fire Department announced today, April 12, it plans to construct a Framingham Firefighter’s Memorial at its headquarters on Loring Drive.

The memorial will consist of a 7-foot tall bronze statue of a firefighter alongside a granite wall that will list the names of those who gave their life to the City of Framingham, as well as an area to recognize past members.

There also will be an area to honor those who their lives in major firefighting events across the country  including the 9/11, the Worcester Cold Storage fire, the Charleston 9 and the Boston Vendome fire.

The department is seeking sponsors and donations to help make the memorial a reality.

The Framingham Firefighter Memorial Trust was established. It is a 501(c)3 fund.
