FRAMINGHAM – After a dozen years on Route 9, a Framingham restaurant is closing.

The restaurant’s lease is up and construction is planned next door to the restaurant.

British Beer Company (BBC) will close its doors on April 21, said the restaurant today, April 11.

Soniya Hotel, LLC  plans to demolish the Magnuson Hotel, next to the British Beer Company restaurant on Route 9 at 120 Worcester Road and build a 6-story hotel.

UPDATED: “We want to thank everyone for sharing their lives with us over the years. We’ve had the opportunity to meet so many great people, it’s going to be a sad day when we have to close the doors. The new owners have some great plans for the property and we wish them well. If you miss the great food and comfortable atmosphere of BBC, consider one of our other pubs, all listed at www.BritishBeer.com,” wrote the resturant this morning, April 12 on its Facebook page.

The BBC closed its restaurant in Walpole at the end of December 2017.

The BBC in Framingham has hosted several famous musicians over the years including Duran Duran and James Blunt last year.
