FRAMINGHAM – Digital Federal Credit Union, better known as DCU, through its partnership with professional document destruction company, E.L. Harvey, will help fight identity theft at its first free paper shredding event of 2018 on Saturday, April 14, at its Framingham branch located at 60 Worcester Road East from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Two giant paper shredding trucks will be onsite for the public to destroy sensitive documents containing personal information, account information, and financial statements that are no longer needed.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Paper, paperclips, staples, and elastics are acceptable. Plastic binders are not permitted. In the attempt to serve as many guests as possible, there is a limit of five bankers boxes (24”x12”x10 ¼”) or five paper grocery bags (12”x17”) per vehicle.
DCU will offer each guest a free credit report analysis and educational tips on how to prevent, detect, and defend against identity theft.
Team members will be on hand to perform demonstrations on the latest DCU Mobile App technology (text alerts, online check deposit, and more.)
Guests will also have the chance to win prizes, such as gift cards and a personal shredder.
