UPDATED: 5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Thursday, March 22

1 Tonight is the sold out Salute to Framingham at the Sheraton Framingham. The event is a fundraiser for the Framingham High School Foundation.

2.UPDATE: This event had to be cancelled —  The Framingham Public Library will host a lecture tonight to celebrate Jane Austen. As part of the Lifelong Learning lecture series, Cheryl Nixon, Associate Provost at Umass Boston, Chair of the English Department, Chair of The Office of Global Programs with a Masters and PhD at Harvard University, will present “Celebrating Jane Austen on the 200th Year Anniversary of Her Death.’’  The free lecture starts at 7 p.m. in the Costin room at the main Framingham Library on Lexington Street. Lifelong Learning Lectures are a collaboration between the Library and Framingham State University.

 

3.   City of Framingham meetings:

  • Framingham Retirement Board will meet today at 10 a.m
  • Framingham Veterans Council is scheduled to meet at 5;15 p.m.
  • Framingham Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7 in the Memorial Building
  • Framingham Cultural Council has a meeting scheduled for 7:15 p.m. in the Memorial Building.

 

4.Amazing Things Arts Center hosts Rhyme with Reason tonight from 7 to 11 p.m.

 

5. Framingham High Class of 2018 has a fundraiser today at Uno’s on Route 9. Take out or dine in and the class will receive up to 20% of the bill. Use the flyer below to support the class.
