FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High Principal Carolyn Banach announced the unexpected death of a Class of 2019 student this morning, March 19.
“On Monday, March 19th, Christian Gopaul, Class of 2019, died unexpectedly. We are deeply saddened as a school community and we express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Christian,” wrote the Principal to parents.
Students were “informed of this unexpected death at approximately 10:45 today. In addition to our grief over the loss Christian, we are very sensitive to the effect that unexpected death can have on our students,” she wrote.
“Adolescents, like adults, may begin to think about their own experiences with death. These feelings may focus on the person who has died, another person that has died in the past, an impending death or anxiety about death in general. Grief counseling services will be available in both Student Support Centers and the Academic Development Center. Please encourage your child to meet with one of our counselors if you believe it to be in their best interest,” concluded her email.
