FRAMINGHAM – In January, the owner of the Toys R Us brand, announced it would close the Babies R Us store in Framingham at Shoppers World.
Now the 70-year old toy retailer announced it will sell or close all of its 800 American stores, which likely means the closure of the Toys R Us store in Shoppers World in Framingham.
Six months ago the company filed for bankruptcy.
The company is facing more than $8 billion in debt, dating back to a buyout deal in 2005.
Toys R Us was once the country’s top toy retailer.
