NATICK – After a decade as the leader of the Natick Public Schools, Superintendent Peter Sanchioni has resigned, effective immediately.
Sanchioni has resigned for “personal, family, and medical reasons.”
The Natick School Committee held a closed door meeting yesterday, Feb. 28 on the Superintendent.
“We are grateful to Dr. Sanchioni for his 10 years of service to our district and the many accomplishments achieved during his tenure, including building the new Natick High School, implementing a successful 1:1 technology program, greatly expanding mental health an social-emotional learning initiatives, and managing significant growth in student enrollment,” said an email to staff and parents.
The Natick School Committee is working quickly to determine next steps.
Just last year, the Natick School Committee gave Sanchioni an “exemplary” rating saying he met eight of 10 district goals.
