FRAMINGHAM – Junior guard Manny Payton, from Fitchburg, has been selected to the 2017-18 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team in voting conducted by the league’s coaches and announced by the conference office yesterday, February 28.
Payton earns his first All-MASCAC honors after averaging 15.9 points, five rebounds and two assists per game. Payton finished the season fourth in the MASCAC in scoring while shooting 41% from the floor. Payton surpassed the 30 point mark in three games this season including a career-high 34 against Tufts back in December. He tallied 31 points connecting on 12-of-24 from the floor in a victory over Worcester State in January.
The Rams finished the 2017-18 season 6-20 overall and 2-10 in the league which earned them the sixth seed in the MASCAC Tournament.
