Framingham Defeats Brockton 6-2; Faces #1 Seed in MIAA Tourney Thursday

CANTON – Framingham High boys ice hockey team defeated the Boxers of Brockton High 6-2, in the preliminary round of the MIAA Division 1 South tournament last night at the Canton Ice House.

With the victory, the Flyers now face the #1 seeded Raiders of Wellesley High in an opening round game on Thursday, March 1 at the Canton Ice House. Puck drops at 7:45 p.m.

The winner of the Wellesley-Framingham game will face the winner of the Xaverian High vs Mansfield High in the quarterfinals.

Framingham High is the defending Division 1 South champions.

Dylan Carrafiello got the Flyers on the scoreboard last night, with a goal in the first period. Assists by Anthony James and Ryan Innis.

The Flyers started the middle period up 1-0.

Framingham’s Mike Tersoni gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead to close the second period.

In the final period, Brockton scored two goals, but Framingham exploded with four goals.

Framingham goal scorers were Will Trischitta, Nate Nichols, Ben Humphreys, and CJ Brown.

The Flyers finished the regular season with a record of 5-9-6, with the win Framingham High is now 6-9-6.

Wellesley finished the regular season with a record of 15-2-2. The Flyers were seeded #16 in the tourney.
