FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High sophomore Sara Anastasi finished tied for ninth place at the MIAA South Gymnastics meet in the floor exercises on Saturday, February 24.
Anastasi was the only Flyer to finish in the top 10 in an individual apparatus. She scored 9.1 on the floor exercises.
Carson Cronin from the combined Medway-Holliston-Millis team finished first in the floor exercises, with a score of 9.475.
The Flyers, as a team, finished 8th overall, with Mansfield winning the South Sectional title.
Mansfield’s Erin Hurley won the all-around title with a score of 37.625.
Anastasi finished 17th in the all-around competition.
She finished tied for 22 in the vault with a 9.0 and tied for 22nd place in the uneven bars with an 8.3. She finished tied for 40th place in the beam with an 8.450.
Framingham gymnast Sophie Rich finished 21st overall in the all-around competition out of 112 gymnasts with a score of 33.075. Her best finish was 23rd place in the floor exercises with a score of 8.775.
Flyer Angela Burke finished 41st overall in the all-around, and Rachel Lew finished 54th in the all-around.
Also competing on Saturday was Framingham High senior Mary Connolly. She finished 36th in the uneven bars and 55th in the floor exercises.
And Flyer Sophie Albright finished 46th in the vault competition, and Carly Brady was 53rd in the vault.
Framingham High’s Tiffany Chan finished 44th overall on the balance beam, with Bryn McIlhenny finishing 48th on the beam.
Flyer Taylor Chapman finished 58th on the uneven bars.
