FRAMINGHAM – Eleven individuals applied to be on the committee to create the first City of Framingham seal.
The City of Framingham Charter calls for a community-wide process to design a new seal or to adapt the current seal for the City of Framingham by the year 2020.
The ad hoc City of Framingham Seal Committee will be chaired by City Clerk Valerie Mulvey, and six of the 11 individuals who applied.
The City Council’s appointment subcommittee will review the 11 applicants, interview them, and make a recommendation for six individuals to be appointed to the ad hoc Committtee by the entire Framingham City Council. Subcommittee Chair Cheryl Tully Stoll said she would set up dates for the interviews.
The City Council released the names of all 11 who applied. Nine of the 11 live individuals in the 01701 zip code and two individuals live in the 01702 zip code.
Those who applied include Town Historian Fred Wallace, former Framingham Town Meeting member Joel Winett, Eastleigh Farm owner Doug Stephan, Richard Shapiro, District 2 School Committee member Ricky Finlay, Renan Pinheiro, designer Rob Levine, Kevin Lally, Alison Guzman, Jim Fitch, and Thomas Grinnell.
