5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Friday, February 16

1 Framingham Public School students have the day off today. It is a professional development day in the district.

Students will not return to school until Monday, February 26, as next week is the winter break.

 

2. FLYERS in action:

  • Wrestling team is at the Division 1 meet today at Newton South High School starting at 2 p.m.
  • Framingham High boys hockey team has an away game against Braintree High at 6;40 p.m.

 

3.   Amazing Things Arts Center presents Diane Young Productions  “Rock Off Main ” a monthly all ages show that features local bands and singer/songwriters from middle school, high school, college or just out of college tonight at 7.

This is an opportunity for young musicians to take their music from basement/garage to center stage where they can share it with friends, family and fans.  We welcome all pop, emo, punk, ska, hardcore, indie etc. bands and acoustic performers from the Metro West and Greater Boston Area.

This month’s performers are Quentin Callewaert, a rising acoustic finger-picking guitar player; The Wrong Road’s Right (from Milford); Junk Food Vegan (from Andover & Natick); Revolution (from Framingham); and Riverlight (Wrentham).

Tickets are $8 at the door.

 

 

4.  CITY OF FRAMINGHAM meetings:

  • Framingham Retirement Board has a meeting at 10 a.m.

 

5.  Travelin’ Bones  BBQ food truck will be at Exhibit A Brewing Company tonight from 5 to 9.
